I always see this 'eye-light' in photos, and I just love it... the eyes just sparkle. I know a lot of it is done in post-editing, and sometimes I've seen it go too far so the eyes look alien-esque. I currently don't have post-editing program that will enhance the eyes to add this sparkle, so I'm trying to become more mindful of how to naturally get that reflection in Madalynn's eyes when I'm shooting. I'm so excited b/c this pictures from this A.M. of Madalynn have it... no post-editing required. I had our front door open just with the storm door so basically a window. The morning sun streams in this door, and Madalynn was facing it... so A-HA... the eyes have it!! Of course she's not smiling. It's getting worse with the camera now... she will actually put something in front of her face so I can't take her picture. I think I'm going to have to back off for awhile.
In post-editing I did play with cropping but that's all I touched... which crop do you like? By the way she looked so grown up to me today... she had a new dress from Ga-Ga, and I pulled her hair back...
Original...
Crop#1 (I got this idea from another photo blog... the photographer was talking about cropping the face so I thought I'd try it... I tried so you could only see one eye but I couldn't do it...)
Crop #2
Just some others from this morning...

Madalynn is tired of the camera. =) I definitely cannot stop taking pics of Emma. You are a great photographer! I actually liked the original even without a smile. =)
ReplyDeleteOriginal then crop 2 then crop 1. I personally like seeing Madalynns whole face.
